چکیده

Abstract Drivers of land use change were captured by the DPSIR model where (D) represented human needs, Pressures (P), activities, State (S), ecosystem, Impact (I) services from ecosystem and Response (R), decisions taken users. Land sat MSS ETM+ (path 185, row 31) used in this study. The image (June 1987, May, 2000 July, 2014) was downloaded USGS Earth Resources Observation Systems data website. Remote sensing processing performed using ERDAS Imagine 9.1. Two use/land cover (LULC) classes established as forest shrub land. Severe changes found to have occurred 1987-2000, reduced −19%, forestry −72%. In – 2014 by-45%, −64%. Forestry be consistently reducing.

Streamflow Response to Climate Variability and Land‐ Cover Changes in the River Beça Watershed, Northern Portugal

This work analyses changes in the River Beça basin streamflow, an area with a typically Mediterranean climate, since the second half of the last century, evaluating trends in annual, monthly and extreme streamflow in the River Beça basin and relating them to precipitation variability and changes in land use and vegetation. Annual streamflow and precipitation are highly irregular, both in intra ...

Land Use and Land Cover Changes in a Tropical River Basin: A Case from Bharathapuzha River Basin, Southern India

A study of the spatial and temporal changes in land use and land cover (LULC) was conducted using Remote Sensing and GIS. We analyzed the LULC of Bharathapuzha river basin, south India using multispectral LANDSAT imageries of 1973-2005 time periods. 31% depletion in the natural vegetation cover and 8.7% depletion in wetland agriculture area were seen in the basin during the period. On the other...

Stream Biotic Health and Land Cover in the Soque River Watershed

The Soque River Watershed Partnership received CWA §319 funding to perform a comprehensive baseline assessment of the biological, chemical, and physical health of the watershed. Certain stream segments in the Soque basin violate State water quality standards for bacteria and sediments. The assessment is designed to identify and prioritize areas for both protection and remediation. Rapid bioasse...

Spatio-temporal changes of water quality variables in a highly disturbed river

Quality of river varies widely depending on the land use in the catchment and environmental factors. Many rivers in developing countries are unhealthy because they contain harmful physical, chemical and biological agents. Zanjanrud River, located in Zanjan Province, Iran, where recently faced human intervention needs a regular monitoring from upstream to downstream for sustainable management. H...

Assessing the Influence of Land Use and Land Cover Datasets with Different Points in Time and Levels of Detail on Watershed Modeling in the North River Watershed, China

Land use and land cover (LULC) information is an important component influencing watershed modeling with regards to hydrology and water quality in the river basin. In this study, the sensitivity of the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model to LULC datasets with three points in time and three levels of detail was assessed in a coastal subtropical watershed located in Southeast China. The r...
